Is it just me or has this summer been full of one story after another about abuse in nursing homes topped with news of health spending cuts that affect some of our most vulnerable citizens?

Already Minister Reilly has (thankfully) done a U-turn on some of the proposed cuts. Of course we know that the HSE’s budget has to be reduced but I would prefer to see the Government tackle the stranglehold that Consultants have on our hospitals and big pharma has over our medicines before it strikes at those people who are most in need of assistance and support.
