Is this not an absolutely basic requirement that we can expect for our older citizens? Nonetheless the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) found that this was a problem when it inspected Nazareth House in Buncrana, Co. Donegal in April. HIQA’s inspections were triggered by the deaths of a number of the home’s residents in March and April of this year from a flu outbreak in the nursing home. The full report from HIQA on this nursing home, or any other nursing home in the country, can be found at hiqa.ie/social-care/find-a-centre/inspection-reports
